Class overview

What to Expect

  • Classes are one day a week over six weeks
  • Classes offer a Hybrid set up: In person or online over zoom
  • Classes are set up through Google Classroom
  • Learn the role of a CASA and how you’ll advocate for a child’s best interests.
  • Understand the child welfare system—including foster care, court, and social services.
  • Build skills in communication and cultural sensitivity, so you can connect with children and families from all walks of life.
  • Practice real-life scenarios—like writing court reports and speaking to a judge.
  • Gain trauma-informed training to better support children who have experienced abuse or neglect.
  • Connect with staff and mentors who will support you every step of your journey.
  • No legal background required—just compassion, consistency, and the willingness to learn.
